| "Please don't leave me again." Sky looks at me, eyes begging. "Was Eir unkind?" "No. She is wonderful. But I missed you so much. I was afraid I'd never see you again." "I was gone for a day." "You were gone for over a week." "Oh." I feel silly. He looks pensive. "What is it, Sky?" "I was just wondering what it was like. Folkvang. I heard stories about it since I was small." "Tell me." I put a few branches on the fire, draw him closer as we sit on the fur rug. Eir is gone for the day. Sola sleeps on her bed. "They say Freya is beautiful. She has a chariot drawn by cats. She can cast a spell on a warrior and turn him into a cat." "She doesn't need a spell for that." I smile, thinking about Freya. And Red, the one before Sky. I left him with Freya for a while ago. She needed a new kitty, and I thought Red would be happier staying with her. I was travelling around, and it was easier on my own. Red fell for Folkvang. And they all fell for him. He was always smiling. I saw him again, just before I left. He was the same adorable savage beast. Happy. Insatiable. Enthusiastic. Learnt a lot, eager to show me. Blew me away. Sky looks up at me, a bit tense. Furling his brows. Gathering courage. "Will you take me to Folkvang?" "Not for a good while." He smiles, looks grateful, bends down to kiss my hand. His mouth skims my palm, glides up to my elbow. Lands on my shoulder. "Mmm. Go on." The feeling of his soft lips on my arm is wonderful. I take hold of his head, we start kissing. His mouth is tender, soothing. He takes me into his arms, sighs with delight. Holds my face between his palms. Buries his face in my hair. Whispers in my ear, his voice is silent. Serious. Shy. "You are the first to have me, Maiden. Please keep me for a long time." "I am pleased to have you, Sky." "...property of Mist." He blushes as he says my name. " Please let me stay with you." "I thought you wanted to go to Folkvang." I wink at him. He just looks at me, his clear blue eyes are probing. Like he was looking into my soul, asking me to see him. "I want to be yours. Just yours. I want to be everything you want me to be." "You are, Sky. You are wonderful." My soul opens for him, lets him see. Lets him understand that I hold him there. Hold all that he is. See all that he is. See him as he is. And all I see is perfection. He sighs, content. Knowing. I kiss him gently, soon we are entwined. Making love, for the first time. |
