KINBAKU: BEGINNERS MIND Sunday the 11th of February you are invited to a four-hour Kinbaku-workshop, especially for beginners – or anyone who enjoys to approach this subject with a ”Beginner’s mind”. Here is an opportunity to playfully explore the art of Japanese rope bondage, guided by an experienced teacher. We will be working with exercises that are directed to four different areas for exploration and knowledge-development: * the personal * the relational * the technical * the historical You will be invited to reflect on the character of your personal curiosity in Kinbaku; we will be exploring different kinds of relational collaboration; we will address technical aspects such as frictions, tension and efficient rope-handling; and your will learn a few things about the art of Kinbaku from a historical perspective. We will also address some basic anatomy and safety issues. * Please note that all participants will be asked both to tie and to be tied. You do not need a partner to attend. Bring a note book and a pen. Bring your own rope. If you do not have your own rope, please tell me at registration, and you can borrow some of mine during the workshop. Bring clothes that you can move about freely in - there will be movement! This workshop is especially focussed on beginners – but it is suitable also for those with some experience, and might have some gems also for seasoned practicioners...
