Moments and Voices in the History of Japanese Rope Bondage Lecture by Bergborg Part of the performance-project SOMEONE YOU TRUST, this lecture offers some historical context for the practice of Japanese Rope Bondage. It will pose questions about the aestetics of suffering and enjoyment, about the dynamics of real and imagined power-relations, and generally about the history of sexuality. In the first section, translated texts and images from the early 1950s will give a glimpse into an evolving subculture and its challenges. The second section is based on original interviews made in Japan in 2016 with thirteen contemporary actors in the field. THIS LECTURE WILL BE IN ENGLISH Bergborg is teaching Kinbaku at Studio Kokoro in Stockholm, and runs the blog Kinbaku Books ( http://kinbakubooks.wordpress.com ) VENUE Skogen, Masthuggsterrassen 3, GÖTEBORG https://skogen.pm |
