Warm welcome to a full-day Shibari workshop: From floor to semi-suspension! At Mar-x's rope studio, Saturday, October 12th, 10:00 -18:00 PM!

Do you already know a few patterns and are eager to try semi-suspensions? Then this course is for you!

During this full-day workshop, we'll focus on going from floor ties to semi-suspensions. Handling uplines and lock offs will be central. We will go through several playful patterns and positions in semi-suspension on bamboo, ring, and carabiner.

Even if you've already started with uplines, this course might interest you, as there will be many tips and tricks on making solid, effective lock offs. There's a lot to gain here if you want to tie with more flow and optimize the speed of your uplines.

Mar-x has spent many hours optimizing the learning curve when it comes to Shibari, and one key piece is to take the intermediate step of semi-suspensions and focus on that for a while before moving on to full suspensions. This allows time to become comfortable with uplines before tackling full suspensions. Plus, it's a lot of fun to play in semi-suspensions 😉

Rubberduckie teaches from the bottom perspective, with a focus on communication, safety, and tips on how to help yourself in the ropes.

SCHEDULE
You arrive at 10.00 and get ready! We begin with a round of introductions, which will transition into teaching with practical exercises and inspiration, helping you learn everything you need to know for safe and playful semi-suspensions!

We’ll take a lunch break (there’s a microwave!) and a fika break during the day, with fruit salad, tea & coffee provided!

We wrap up with a review, feedback, and departure at 18.00!

PREREQUISITES
The rigger is required to have experience with floor ties and be familiar with some patterns that can be done reasonably well. If you're unsure if you're qualified, send us a message!

PRACTICAL INFO
Bring your own ropes, at least six 8-meter ropes, and preferably a few half-ropes or ropes of shorter lengths!

Bring your own lunch – the kitchen has a microwave and a stove! Feel free to bring snacks to keep your energy up throughout the day!

Switching is allowed! Alternate with every exercise!

REGISTRATION Send a PM to Rubberduckie with the subject "Workshop semi-suspension" and the event date. Include how we know each other, or if we have any mutual acquaintances.

Cost: 1800 SEK per pair

Max 4 pairs. A small number of participants allows for lots of individual feedback. Registration is per pair, and your spot on the course is secured through advance payment via Swish. The number will be provided once registration is confirmed!

Mar-x's enthusiasm for Shibari began in 2015 and has since been focused on development within Shibari and spreading the knowledge to others! Rubberduckie is a trained Art & media teacher and with a great passion for Shibari. We’ve taught at Peer Rope, Pride, Bound♥, Shibari Camp, and at Mar-x's own rope studio, offering both workshops and private lessons.

Our teaching focuses on making rope and play accessible in a holistic way. We teach from both the top and bottom perspectives, with a focus on technique, connection, and intimacy. We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive space.

THE ROPE STUDIO The location is near Älvsjö, and the address will be sent in the confirmation email. The rope studio is fully equipped with mats, 4 bamboos, several hardpoints with rings and carabiners, two hashiras, and more.
