Part 5: Spears will shatter shields will splinter
| I am back from the lake before he wakes up, with some water in my helmet. "Drink." The scent of my hair perfumes the water, he fills his lungs with it before he takes a sip. "Hrist honored you with a name of your own." His eyes go hazy. "Are you familiar with the naming ritual?" He nods. Falls to his knees. I take a step closer. Open my legs. Press his face between them. His lips are cold from the water, but not for long. I feel my thighs tremble. He really works hard for his name. I push him to the ground, sit on his neck, take a fistful of his hair. Pull his head towards me. Feel him struggle for air. I grip his shaft, drive him to the edge, leave him teetering. Look down on his crimson face between my thighs. His obedient mouth. I scream out his name as I come, and mark him on the shoulder. Smear a drop of his blod on my lips and bend down to kiss him. Kiss the tears from his face. "You earned your name, warrior. Sky, property of Mist." "Sky, property of Mist." "You will not move until I return. Understood?" He nods. I leave him laying on the ground. Hard, aching, ready to be used again. Longing for my touch. I walk towards the lake, smell the blood in the air. See her before she sees me. Hild. She turns around, and I am floored by her savage beauty. She greets me with a kiss. Takes hold of my head, bends it backwards. I struggle for air as she grips my throat, pressing my body against hers. "A new one?" Hild licks her lips with gusto, savouring the taste of Sky's blood. "What happened to the last one?" "Volunteered him as a new kitty for Freya's chariot." "Did you mark the new one?" I smile at her. "Peckish?" "He tastes good." "Hrist liked him." "Say no more." She has her hand on my ass as we walk back. His eyes widen with terror, recognizing Hild, his lips forming her name. "The wings, huh? Dead give-away." Hild looks down on him. Looks at me. "He is yours for the night, Sister." She looks at his shoulder, the scar has stopped bleeding. Raises an eyebrow. "S for Sky." I wink at her. She tosses back her head, laughing so hard that the battle helmet almost falls off. "Still trolling Sigrun with the Mountain runes, I see." Sky lifts his arm, looks at his shoulder. Gasps. Instead of the lightning-shaped Sun rune he bears a mark that looks like a spearhead. A bit like a fucked-up Cattle rune. He looks at me with tears in his eyes. I kneel down beside him, so he can hear me. "This is the most revered rune of the East Mountain Men. It is the mountain itself. Carries the magic of protection." His sky blue eyes look grateful. "You earned your name. Now, make me proud." I stand up to kiss Hild before I leave him to her. |
